Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job
Overview
- Location: Jacksonville, North Carolina
- Setting: Med-surg telemetry unit
- Shift: Nights, 3x12s, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Employment type: Travel/contract
Schedule and Work Expectations
- Weekends and holidays are included
- No call
- May take IMCU patients if needed based on census
- Expected to float to like acuities or lower if needed
- Patient ratio: 1:6
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Med Surg / Telemetry (1 year of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Proficiency with insulin, heparin, and Lasik drips
Experience and Clinical Background
- Experience with cardiac, diabetes, CHF, COPD, renal, general surgery, and orthopedics patients is relevant to the unit
Compliance and Onboarding
- Skills checklist required
- Unit competency exam required
- Background check required

- NURSYS verification required
- Physical exam required
- Drug screen required
- TB screening required
- Tdap vaccination required
- Flu vaccination or approved declination required during flu season
- COVID vaccination proof required if vaccinated; unvaccinated candidates must complete the COVID declination form
- Candidate must complete facility-specific onboarding documents and orientation modules
