Overview

• Location: Seattle, Washington
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 12 hours
• Hours per week: 36
• Schedule: Every other weekend; expected to work some holidays
• Floating: No
• Call/standby: No

Required Qualifications

• RN (Registered Nurse)
• One year of experience
• Behavioral health experience
• Drivers License required at time of submittal
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• PALS

Preferred Qualifications

• Existing traveler who has completed 1–2 assignments
• Triage experience

Unit Details

• Emergency department with 17 beds, flexing to 22 with hallway beds if staffing allows
• Primary patient population includes stroke, STEMI, sepsis, chest pain, psychosis, and behavioral health
• Rare pediatric patients are treated and transferred
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
• Fast track through triage lobby
• Separate triage area
• 4 designated psych rooms
• Security is in-house 24/7
• RT is paged as needed
• X-ray and CT are in the ER department
• RNs draw labs

Additional Information

• Travelers may be used as charge, more often at night
• Royal blue scrubs
• Orientation: one 12-hour shift with an experienced ED RN
• Parking is paid; garage parking is available with daily and monthly options, or travelers can use transit
• The hospital does not reimburse parking
• Travelers float within Region One if needed: Burien, Federal Way, and Seattle locations
