ER RN
Overview
- Travel contract in Tacoma, Washington
- 13 weeks
- Nights, 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Orientation/education hours are not guaranteed during the first 2 weeks; expect 25+ hours
Required Qualifications
- 2 full years of ER experience
- Active BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS, and WA License
- Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment
Unit Details
- ER unit
- 33 beds/trauma bays, including 2 trauma bays
- 5 psych/seclusion rooms
- Fast track: Yes
- 125-140 patients per day
- Ratios: 3-4:1
- Charge nurse available 24/7
- ED Technicians serve as nurse aides/paramedics
- Security/patient sitters available 24/7
- Vents: Yes
- ED physicians/mid-levels: Both
- Lab draws: Yes
- IV team available 24/7 and supports all hospital
- RT available 24/7
- Pharmacy coverage 0700-0300
- Floor-specific orientation: 1 day
Schedule
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Holidays: Occasionally
- Shifts: 1800-0630
Patient Population
- Emergency patients including stroke, STEMI, trauma, and ACS
Float Scope
- Primary assignment is St Joseph Medical Center
- May float throughout Region Two if needed:
- St. Clare Hospital – Lakewood, WA
- St. Elizabeth Hospital – Enumclaw, WA
- St Joseph Medical Center – Tacoma, WA
