ER RN
Overview
- Travel contract in Washington

Required Qualifications
- Active BLS
- Active ACLS
- Active WA License
- 2 full years of experience
- TNCC
- PALS
- Will accept a traveler with 1 year of experience in a larger trauma setting

Unit Details
- ER/Trauma Center
- 56 beds/trauma bays, with hall beds increasing capacity to 60-70s
- Fast track with 6 beds
- Separate triage area with 5 beds
- 18 beds designated for holding inpatients awaiting bed placement
- Locked hall with 6 private treatment rooms
- Approximately 170-200 patients per day
- Ratios: 1:3, or 1:4 for low acuity
- Common patient types include cardiac, stroke, sepsis, DKA, AMS, respiratory, abdominal pain, and mental health
Clinical Support
- ED Physicians/Mid-Levels: both
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: both
- ED Techs and CNAs from inpatient provide 1:1 sitters
- RTs manage vents, CPap, Bipap, and other RT equipment
- RTs also complete ABGs
- ED Techs do EKGs
- Radiology is adjacent to the ED
- Transport assists with patient movement as able
- Nurse or ED Tech draws blood primarily; lab assists when difficult
Scheduling and Policies
- Orientation/education hours are not guaranteed during the first 2 weeks of the assignment; expect 25+ hours
- Unit orientation includes 1 day of compliance information and 1 day of department orientation
- Every other weekend required
- Must work holidays in November and December
- No call or standby requirement
- Extra shifts available but not required
- No floating
- No RTO for the first full week of the assignment
- Mids: 3p-3a
- Existing patterns are built for traveler schedules
