Required Qualifications

• Active BLS
• Active ACLS
• Active WA License
• 2 full years of experience
• TNCC
• PALS
• Will accept a traveler with 1 year of experience in a larger trauma setting

Preferred Qualifications

• ENPC

Unit Details

• ER/Trauma Center
• 56 beds/trauma bays, with hall beds increasing capacity to 60-70s
• Fast track with 6 beds
• Separate triage area with 5 beds
• 18 beds designated for holding inpatients awaiting bed placement
• Locked hall with 6 private treatment rooms
• Approximately 170-200 patients per day
• Ratios: 1:3, or 1:4 for low acuity
• Common patient types include cardiac, stroke, sepsis, DKA, AMS, respiratory, abdominal pain, and mental health

Clinical Support

• ED Physicians/Mid-Levels: both
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: both
• ED Techs and CNAs from inpatient provide 1:1 sitters
• RTs manage vents, CPap, Bipap, and other RT equipment
• RTs also complete ABGs
• ED Techs do EKGs
• Radiology is adjacent to the ED
• Transport assists with patient movement as able
• Nurse or ED Tech draws blood primarily; lab assists when difficult

Scheduling and Policies

• Orientation/education hours are not guaranteed during the first 2 weeks of the assignment; expect 25+ hours
• Unit orientation includes 1 day of compliance information and 1 day of department orientation
• Every other weekend required
• Must work holidays in November and December
• No call or standby requirement
• Extra shifts available but not required
• No floating
• No RTO for the first full week of the assignment
• Mids: 3p-3a
• Existing patterns are built for traveler schedules
