Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Unit / Department

• Birthing Center / Mother Baby – L&D
• 13 L&D beds
• 2 OR suites on the unit for C-sections
• 2 triage beds
• 14 postpartum beds

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience titrating Magnesium, Pitocin, and Insulin drips
• OR Circulate experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Intermediate or advanced FHM

Schedule

• Days
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend
• Holidays rotate with permanent staff
• Block scheduling available when requested in the contract

Float / Scope

• Mother baby and postpartum are treated as one unit
• No floating to NICU
• No floating outside the department
• Must also function in postpartum with routine mom and baby competencies
• Must be able to transition babies and attend low-risk deliveries

Clinical Setting / Patient Population

• High-risk patients
• Preeclampsia
• Diabetic patients
• Psych/social issues
• Positive illicit substance use
• Patients 32 weeks and above

Additional Details

• 24/7 in-house OBGYN/hospitalist
• 24/7 in-house NNP in the nursery
• OB anesthesia provider in house 24/7
• One surgical tech 24/7
• Patient care assistant with clerical duties on each shift
• RT equipment available; typically one assigned to family birth
• Tele/monitor techs are present for PACU after C-section
• EFM system: Centricity-perinatal
• Standby response time: 45 minutes
• Scrubs provided
• Locker provided
• Surgical hand scrub policy includes no artificial nails or nail enhancements and natural fingernails only
