Description
Respiratory Care Practitioner - NICU/PICU & Adults
Location
- Omaha, Nebraska
Assignment Overview
- Respiratory care role covering NICU/PICU and adults.
- NICU level 4 with L&D and PICU level 1 trauma and transplant experience would be ideal.
- NICU may also be assigned to adult floors or adult ICUs, and NICU coverage is not guaranteed every shift.
Required Qualifications
- Active Nebraska license.
- High school diploma.
- Trach experience.
- Willingness to work NICU/PICU and adults as needed.
- 2 years of NICU, PICU, and adult respiratory therapy experience.
- 2 years of floor care therapy experience.
- 2 years of intensive care therapy experience.
- BLS.
- ACLS if working in the AICU.
- NRP if working in NICU.
- PALS if working in PICU.
- RRT certification.
Clinical Skills and Experience
- Basic floor care respiratory therapy, including nebulizers, MDI’s, bronchial hygiene (CPT), volume expansion (PEP), and CPAP & BiPAP for all ages from infant to geriatric.
- NICU experience with Servoi, SiPAP, and Sensormedics 3100A (HFOV) ventilator machines and blood gas analysis.
- Adult ICU experience with Servoi, ventilator extubation protocols, and ABG’s.
- Familiarity with electronic charting.
Unit / Work Setting
- Computerized charting with EPIC.
- Supply and medication Pyxis machines.
- Lead Therapist support available 24/7, with additional support staff during regular business hours.
Schedule
- Nights
- 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
