PCU RN

Location

Omaha, Nebraska

Role Overview

PCU RN position on a PCU Oncology unit.
Adult Oncology PCU and Trauma PCU patients.
18 beds.

Required Qualifications

1 year of experience.
BLS.
ACLS.
NIHSS.
Driver’s license required at submittal.
First-time travelers accepted.

Preferred Qualifications

Oncology experience.
CHEMO CERT.
ONS/ONCC.

Schedule

13-week contract.
12-hour night shifts.
Every other weekend.
Self-scheduling, balanced to unit needs.
36 hours per week.

Float Scope

Floats to other Med/Surg and PCU units.
Float assignments remain at the same level of care.

Unit Details

Two days of unit orientation.
Ratios: 1:4-1:5 on days and nights.
Common drips/medications include chemotherapy, heparin, Cardizem, and Protonix.
RNs occasionally titrate insulin and Cardizem drips.
Respiratory equipment commonly encountered includes high flow.
Epic is used for EMR.
Alaris IV pumps are used.
Lyko lifts are available in even-numbered rooms, with additional lift equipment available.
