Description
Respiratory Therapist
Overview
- Contract role in Gunnison, Colorado
- 13-week assignment
- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour shifts, rotating weekends
- Early shifts start at 6:00am to 6:30pm
- 2 on-call shifts per week
Role Summary
- Provide therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Work under the direction of ordering physicians and the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Director
- Support adult, pediatric, and newborn respiratory care
- Assist with orientation and training of new clinical staff
- Participate in community education and development
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved and accredited respiratory care program
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Colorado
- Respiratory Therapist (5 years of experience)
- Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Experience working with Neonate patients
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- 5 years of newborn/NICU experience
- 3 years of acute Respiratory Care medicine experience including General Floor Care, Emergent Medical and Trauma Stabilization/Treatment, and Newborn Stabilization
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- NBRC
- Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Cardiopulmonary Diagnostics
- Pulmonary and Cardiac Rehabilitation
Additional Notes
- Working knowledge of Pulmonary Function Studies and testing is part of the role
- Rural Gunnison does not have public transportation, so reliable transportation is needed
