Emergency Dept RN

Location

  • Bowling Green, Kentucky

Assignment Details

  • Travel assignment
  • 36 hours per week
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Every other weekend
  • No floating
  • 20 beds
  • Patient ratio: 4:1
  • Current daily volume: 105
  • Documentation system: MEDITECH

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Kentucky
  • ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
  • ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • BLS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred

  • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
  • NIH Certification

Unit Procedures

  • LAC repairs
  • Closed reductions
  • Intubations
  • Lumbar punctures
  • I&Ds
  • Splinting

Unit Notes

  • Unit staffing includes unit clerk/monitor tech, paramedic, and advanced care tech
  • Uses AIDET, communication boards, and rounding for patient experience
  • Tenured staff and charge nurses on days and nights
  • Average discharge LOS is 150 minutes
  • Admitted LOS is 240 minutes
  • Very few admitted holds for more than 3-4 hours after admission order is placed
  • Engaged provider group that sees patients quickly
  • Few patient complaints
  • Strong staff teamwork
