ICU Float Pool RN

Overview

• Location: Phoenix, Arizona
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days
• Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• 2 years or more of ICU experience
• Level I Trauma experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• Cerner EMR experience
• Level I experience
• Must be gone from CommonSpirit for 12 months as perm staff to be considered for a travel assignment
• Must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia Exam within 2 attempts before contract start
• Must complete onboarding by the stated deadline
• Must have their own vehicle

Preferred Qualifications

• NIHSS
• Level I trauma center experience
• Teaching hospital experience

Unit and Float Scope

• ICU Float Pool
• Floats among all ICU areas and MedSurg/Tele units
• May float to sister campuses in Glendale and Laveen
• ICU Float Cluster includes Tower 2, Tower 4, and 4 Neuro
• Tower 2: medical, surgical, and trauma patients, 1:2 ratio
• Tower 4: cardiothoracic ICU specializing in lung transplants and ECMO, 1:2 ratio
• 4 Neuro: neuro-specific ICU, 1:2 ratio
• Tele ratio: 1:4

Schedule and Work Expectations

• 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks
• Holidays required based on unit needs
• No call
• Standby response time: 30 minutes
• Schedule is posted 4 weeks in advance and may change 2 weeks in advance
• Expected to be on the unit by 7AM/7PM for shift huddle
• 2 shifts of orientation, with a third shift only as needed

Clinical Expectations

• Must be able to manage all critical drips
• Must be able to support vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow respiratory support
• Must be able to read tele strips
• Bedside reports required
• 2-person skin assessment within the first 4 hours of the shift

Additional Notes

• Cannot work another assignment or contract while working for Dignity AZ
• No facial piercings and only natural hair colors
• Travelers may be expected to have nursing students
• Facility will not consider contracts shorter than 13 weeks
