ER/Medsurg/Swing RN

Overview

• Registered Nurse role in Lisbon, North Dakota.
• 13-week contract.
• Nights, 12-hour shifts, 48 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

• 1 year of ER experience.
• Charge experience.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.
• RN license.

Preferred

• Critical Access experience.

Unit / Setting

• Critical Access facility.
• Department includes ER, Medsurg, and Swing Bed.
• ER has 2 beds/trauma bays; Medsurg has 10 beds.
• Patient mix includes traumas, strokes, STEMIs, chest pains, respiratory diagnoses, lacerations, pediatrics through geriatrics, pneumonia, UTIs, observation patients, and some short-term swing bed patients.
• Common drips include heparin and levophed.
• RNs must read and interpret their own telemetry strips.
• Charge nurse is on each shift and takes an assignment.
• No nurse aides/EMTs/paramedics/patient sitters in the ER; Medsurg has patient sitters at 1:8.

Schedule

• Self/team scheduling.
• Every other weekend.
• Every third holiday.

Floating

• Floats between ER, Medsurg, and Swing Bed.

Orientation

• 1 unit-specific 12-hour shift of orientation.

Additional Notes

• No clinical involvement.
• RTO must be provided upfront; additional RTO will not be approved.
