Description
Endoscopy RN
Overview
- Travel RN role in Asheville, North Carolina.
- Variable shift assignment.
- 36 hours per week.
- Contract length: 13 weeks.
Unit Details
- Endoscopy unit with 8 Pre-OP beds, 6 PACU beds, and 4 procedure rooms.
- Day shift hours are 0600-1800.
- Night/call shifts start at 1700 or 1800 depending on FTE status.
- Staffing varies by case volume, with 12-16 staff.
- Patient ratios are variable.
- Floating area: none, unless the traveler volunteers.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina.
- Endoscopy experience with 2 years of experience.
- Endoscopy experience within the last year.
- BLS.
- ACLS.
- PALS.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience.
- Preoperative experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pediatric Endoscopy Experience.
- Pulmonary Endoscopy Experience.
- Endoscopy Tech Experience.
Schedule and Call
- Four 9-hour day shifts are scheduled between Monday and Friday.
- One overnight call shift per week.
- Two weekend call shifts during a 6-week period.
- Block scheduling is not accommodated.
Procedures
- Adult EGD, Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy, EUS, ERCP, EBUS, Bronchoscopy, ION Navigational Bronchoscopy, Esophageal/Duodenal/Colonic/Axios Stent Placements, PEG Placement, Tracheostomy Placement, Pulmonary Cryo Therapy, Capsule Endoscopy, and Foreign Body Removal.
- Pediatric EGD, Sigmoidoscopy, and Colonoscopy for ages under 1 to 18.
Equipment and EMR
- Olympus Scopes, ERBE, Medivator, ION, Boston Scientific, Cook.
- Cerner.
Additional Notes
- Green surgical scrubs are provided; navy blue scrubs are also acceptable.
- Best fit is someone not looking to drive back and forth to their permanent residence daily.
