PCU Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Albuquerque, New Mexico
• Night shift
• 12-hour shifts
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Cardiac stepdown unit with a significant cardiac patient population
• 55-bed unit

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Mexico
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or RQI or American Safety and Health Institute
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or RQI or American Safety and Health Institute
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Cardiovascular experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of experience preferred; 1+ years will be considered
• NIH
• CPI

Schedule and Unit Details

• Patient ratio: 1:4
• Weekend coverage as needed, rotating
• Float requirement: yes
• On-call: none
• Block scheduling considered case by case
• First-time travelers accepted

Compliance and Onboarding

• Drivers license or state ID required
• Background check required
• Education verification required
• Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation for New Mexico placements
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit test within 1 year of start
• Tdap within 10 years of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• Drug screen within 90 days of start
• Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity or vaccination documentation required
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• Work history verification required
• Skills checklist required annually
• Application/resume required
