Respiratory Therapist
Job Overview
- Location: Greenville, South Carolina
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Schedule: Every other weekend; may change as needed
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Patient population: Adults and geriatrics
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in South Carolina
- Respiratory Therapist with 2 years of experience
- Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Trauma Level 1 experience
- Adult Critical Care work settings experience
- Experience with extubation
- Experience with nasal airway placements
- Experience with oral airway placement
- Experience with tracheostomy care
- Experience administering albuterol, Atrovent, combivent, flovent, inhaled steroids, ispurel, lidocaine, perforomist, pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, spiriva, terbutaline sulfate, tobramycin, xopenex
- Experience delivering medication through aerosol set up mask, aerosol set up trach, Medihaler, Metered Dose inhaler
- Experience with hand held, T-piece and Trach collar nebulizers
- Experience with high flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy
- Experience with BiPAP and CPAP
- Experience troubleshooting high pressure alarms
- Experience with Epic
Work Expectations
- May be required to float to other units or campuses as needed, within documented competencies
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Local candidates are accepted under the stated radius rule
- All requests for time off, block scheduling, and special scheduling must be included with submission and are subject to facility approval at booking
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

- Driver’s license or state ID required immediately upon signing for computer access
- E-Verify or attestation required
- Background check required
- Federal exclusion and sanctions checks required
- Education verification required
- Primary source license verification required
- Orientation safety/HIPAA acknowledgement required
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start
- Fit test completed onsite during orientation
- Negative TB or chest X-ray required
- Drug screening required within 1 year of start
- Flu vaccine documentation or approved exemption required
- Resume/application must include 7-year work history

- EPIC experience is required for charting
