ICU RN

Overview

Shift: Nights, 12 hours
Hours per week: 36

Required Qualifications

RN license
BLS
ACLS
2+ years of ICU experience
Experience with ventilators
Experience with drip management
Experience with DKA management

Preferred Qualifications

CRRT training
IABP training

Unit Details

16 beds
Nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1 most of the time
Charge nurse is free
RT is on unit 24 hours a day
Nurses are only required to troubleshoot respiratory equipment
Self-scheduling is available
Floating is required
Orientation is 2 shifts
Weekend requirement: 6 shifts in 6 weeks
Holiday requirement: 1 major and 1 minor for spring and fall
No call or standby requirement
Scrub color: Royal blue

Drips / Monitoring

All cardiac drips
Insulin
Sedation meds
RNs are required to titrate drips
