Hospice In-Patient Unit

Overview

Contract role in Grand Junction, Colorado
Full-time, night shift: 3 12-hour shifts, 7pm-7am, rotating
On-call requirement: 2 shifts per month
Orientation is 3 days, 8am-5pm, before starting night shift
Contract length: 12 weeks

Role Summary

Hospice nurse providing compassionate end-of-life care in a short-term, home-like care center
Focus includes intensive medical end-of-life care for patients who can no longer be at home but would rather not be hospitalized
Role includes teaching patients and caregivers, symptom management, assessment, and critical thinking

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Colorado
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS
Hospice Palliative Care RN experience within the last year
2 years of Hospice Palliative Care RN experience

Work Environment

Short-term care in a home-like setting
Comprehensive physical, emotional, social, and spiritual support provided
