Labor and Delivery RN
Role Overview
- Travel/Contract Labor and Delivery RN in Anchorage, Alaska
- 13-week assignment
- Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
- First timers accepted
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend
- May float to like units if needed
- Locals not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
- On-call not required
- Block scheduling not accommodated
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alaska
- Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with Epic
Unit Information
- High-risk L&D unit
- OB Triage/Testing: 5–10
- LD/Antepartum: 7–14
- 10 OB Triage rooms
- 10 LDR rooms
- 3 OR suites
- 4 PACU rooms
- Average daily deliveries are around 7, with up to 14 patients during inductions and high-risk antepartum
- OB Triage averages 4–5 third-trimester testing patients plus additional triage patients each day
