Labor & Delivery RN
Location
- Show Low, Arizona
Assignment Overview
- Labor & Delivery travel nurse role at a regional hospital
- 13-week contract
- 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week
- Guaranteed hours with no cancellations
- Start date: ASAP
- Orientation: every Monday
Schedule
- Nights, 6p–6a
- Weekend requirement: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule minimum
- Call: one shift per 4-week schedule
Unit Details
- Labor & Delivery unit with:
- 7 L&D beds
- 2 triage beds
- 10 postpartum beds
- Typical ratio: 1:2
- 1–3 births per day
- About 830 births per year
Required Qualifications
- ACLS
- BLS
- NRP
- Intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring
- At least 3 years of experience
- C-section experience
- Active Arizona or compact RN license
- Must be proficient in fetal monitoring and the actions taken for fetal distress
- Must be able to care for patients with pre-eclampsia
- Must be able to function in L&D and couplet care
- Must be able to handle OB emergencies until the provider arrives
Preferred / Helpful
- May float to ED or MS if experienced
- May float to other units of the hospital, usually MedSurg, if needed
- Clinical background in high-risk patients
Staffing / Support
- Respiratory therapist in unit 24/7
- OB/neonatologist not in house
- 24/7 pharmacy in house
- Support staff includes patient care technician and health unit secretary
- OB scrub tech and HUC also listed as support staff
Additional Notes
- Clean files and all certs help candidates get interviewed quickly
