CVICU Registered Nurse
Job Overview
- Travel/contract role in New Brunswick, New Jersey
- 13-week assignment
- Night shift, 3x12 hours
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays, per unit needs
- Candidates must float within their skillset; may float to all ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Jersey
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- CVICU experience within the last year
- 2 years of CVICU experience
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Experience with fresh post-op cardiac cases including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
- Experience with Impella device management
- Experience with IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
- Experience with CRRT using PrisMax
- Ability to manage A-lines and administer blood products
- Ability to manage central/PICC lines and start IVs
- Ability to administer continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade and sedation
- Ability to administer emergency medications and procedural sedation
- Ability to titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips
- Ability to manage IV insulin protocols
- Experience with Epic
