Med Surg/Telemetry (Days)
Role Overview
- Registered Nurse (RN) temp assignment in Des Moines, Iowa.
- 13-week contract.
- Days shift.
Unit Details
- Med surg unit with overflow of post-op surgical hips/knees and psych patients.
- 24 beds.
- Patient ratio: 4-5:1.
- Tele tech unit monitoring: Remote.
- Uses EPIC.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa.
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience).
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year.
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Experience in Charge roles.
- Driver's License.
- Experience with Epic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience caring for psych patients.
- Precept experience.
- Reference/check from within the last 24 months.
Scheduling Notes
- No blocked shifts.
- Required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed.
- May be asked to extend past the initial 13-week contract.
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Traveler will float across all campuses: Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist.
