Description
Acute Leukemia and Hematology RN
Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Columbus, Ohio
- Unit: 15E James
- 12-hour day/night only schedule
- Adults and geriatrics
- Primarily cares for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
- Staffing ratio goal is 1:4, can be 1:5
- Weekends are variable based on unit needs
- First-time travelers are screened to client for review
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Overall 2 years of acute care nursing experience
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- Ohio State license verification within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification
- Unit-specific competency exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam within 1 year of start and updated annually
- Emergency Contact Form
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start
- BCI/FBI fingerprinting using code 3701.881 within 1 year of start
- Pending background check attestation if fingerprint results are pending
- Education accreditation confirmation from an accredited nursing program
- Employment application
- Skills checklist
- 2 professional references, with at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role
- Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Annual ethics and compliance policies acknowledgement
- Annual fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year of start
- Tdap
- Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series, or signed declination
- MMR immunity or vaccination documentation for measles, mumps, and rubella
- Varicella immunity or vaccination documentation
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask documentation
- Annual flu vaccination or declination during flu season
