RN II - MST / Medical Telemetry

• Prescott Valley, Arizona

Assignment Overview

• Travel support for the Med Surg Tele and Multi Care unit
• 13-week contract
• 12-hour night shifts
• 36 hours per week

Unit Details

• MST/PCU (Med Surg Tele/PCU)
• 30 beds across three 10-bed units
• Typical ratio: 1:5-6

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• Minimum 1 year of MedSurg experience
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Must be willing to care for both MST and PCU patients
• Must take and pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing the contract
• Must be willing to precept nursing students

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in telemetry

Patient Population / Clinical Experience

• Surgical patients including total hip and knee replacement, small bowel resection, hysterectomy, and exploratory lap
• Medical patients including MRSA, C-diff infections, suicide attempt, drug or alcohol withdrawal, COPD, pneumonia, and COVID
• Telemetry patients with chest pain
• Stable CPAP or BiPAP patients

Scheduling

• Every other weekend
• Holiday rotation
• May be placed on standby during low census

Float Scope

• Float to the Multi Care Unit and Pediatric unit to care for adult MST patients
• Float to West Campus MedSurg Tele
• First to float

Additional Notes

• Remote Monitor Techs are available
• NAs support the unit; if no NA is available, the RN takes 3 patients and provides primary care
• Scrubs may be any color except camouflage
