Overview

• Travel RN assignment in Hermitage, Tennessee.
• Unit name: PCU.
• 36 hours per week.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.

Unit Details

• PCU has two cost centers: 630 with 34 beds and 633 with 25 beds.
• Patient ratios are 1:4 to 1:5 on days and 1:5 to 1:6 on nights.
• The unit uses Meditech.
• The unit may float between PCU units or to med-surg floors.
• Black scrubs are required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year.
• 2 years of PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience.
• BLS.
• ACLS.
• EKG rhythm interpretation experience.
• Cardiac drip experience.
• Insulin drip experience.
• Heparin drip experience.
• Peripheral IV skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Peritoneal dialysis experience.
• Experience with bipaps, high flow O2, and multiple oxygen delivery systems.
• Experience with stroke care and post cardiac cath care.
• Experience with tube feedings and NG/dobhoff tubes.

Unit Procedures / Clinical Experience

• Peritoneal dialysis.
• Thoracentesis.
• Paracentesis.
• Chest tube insertions.
• Dobhoff/NG tube insertions.
• Central line dressing changes.
• Troubleshooting wound vacs.

Scheduling

• Every other weekend is required.
• The schedule is 3 twelve-hour shifts per week.
• The unit uses self-scheduling.
