NICU RN
Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Seattle, Washington
- 13-week assignment
- Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
- Unit: Level III or IV NICU
- 77-bed NICU with average census of 50
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Washington
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (3 years of experience)
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Open to floating to different campuses
- Active compact license honored by the facility’s Swedish locations
- NURSYS verification required for all RNs
- Fit mask clearance
- RespSafety clearance
- Negative TB or chest X-ray
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Drug testing
- Flu seasonal vaccination/documentation
- COVID documentation or declination
- Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment total within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Employment application with at least the last 5 years of employment
- Skills checklist
- Competency exam
- Work history verification if needed for a reference exception request
Clinical Details
- No ECMO
- May use CPAP/BiPap, high frequency vents, oscillators, vents
- Blood/blood products administration
- Cardioversion/defibrillation
- Cooling/warming blanket
- Feeding tubes
- PICC/central lines
- Syringe pumps
- Attends high-risk deliveries
- Neonatal surgeries
- Travelers usually do not admit babies because the unit has a dedicated Admit Nurse
- Rarely floats; possible float locations include Issaquah, Edmonds SCN, or Pediatrics/NBN for newborns only
- If floated to Peds, only infants are assigned
- Block schedule may be approved if preferred, with 3 or more shifts in a row
