• Lisbon, North Dakota

Role Summary

• ER/Medsurg/Swing RN assignment in a critical access setting.
• No clinical involvement.

Required Qualifications

• 1 year of ER experience
• Charge experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• PALS
• TNCC

Preferred

• Critical access experience

Unit Details

• ER: 2 beds/trauma bays
• Med/Surg: 10 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios:

  • ER: 1:3-4
  • Med/Surg days: 1:5
  • Med/Surg nights: 1:6
• Common patient types include traumas, strokes, STEMIs, chest pains, respiratory diagnoses, lacerations, pneumonia, UTIs, observation patients, and some short-term swing bed patients
• Common drips: heparin and levophed
• Charge nurse on each shift; charge nurse takes an assignment
• No nurse aides/EMTs/paramedics/patient sitters in ER; Med/Surg has patient sitters at 1:8
• RNs must read and interpret their own telemetry strips
• Orientation: 1 twelve-hour shift

Schedule

• Nights
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Self/team scheduling
• Every other weekend
• Every third holiday

Floating

• Floats between ER, Med/Surg, and Swing Bed

Additional Notes

• RTO must be provided upfront for 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract
• Additional RTO will not be approved after submission
• Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
