Overview

• Location: Kankakee, Illinois
• Facility: 22 private beds
• Shift: Days
• Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• IL license in hand
• BLS
• ACLS
• EPIC experience
• Drivers License required for submission to be considered
• 1 year of experience
• RNs required to titrate drips

Preferred Qualifications

• Travel experience
• ICU experience

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 on days and nights
• Common diagnoses include cardiac, open heart day 3, cranis, cardiac cath (radial and femoral), watchman, zephyr valve for COPD, pacemakers, trachs, continuous CPAP, Bipap, chest tubes, and CBI
• No vents
• Charge nurse/team lead during the day does not take patients; charge on nights/weekends/holidays takes patients
• Nurse aides are present at 1:10 and assist with blood sugars, vitals, and ADLs
• RT equipment includes CPAP, BIPAP, and HFNC
• RNs read tele; centralized tele tech also helps monitor
• Shifts are 5-5
• Manager does the schedule and tries to accommodate block scheduling
• Weekend requirement: every other
• Holiday requirement: every other
• No call or standby requirement
• Floating: ICU for PCU-level patients, or med surg for a full assignment
• Scrub color: Caribbean scrubs
• Orientation: one 12-hour shift

• Local placements accepted within 20-50 miles
• First time traveler okay
• Clinical prescreen required before hiring manager review
