Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Towson, Maryland
• 13-week contract
• 36 hours per week
• Rotating 3x12 shifts; the primary shift is 11:00–23:30
• Start date: 10/5/2026
• Unit has 6 beds
• Average daily census: 3–5
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maryland
• CVICU experience with 2 years of experience
• CVICU experience within the last year
• Immediate open heart post-op experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• CPI
• Every third weekend
• Holidays as scheduled
• Floating to MSICU as needed
• 24–36 hours of on-call coverage per rotating 6-week schedule

• OCN
• TCNN

Unit Details

• Common patient population includes post-op cardiac surgery, cardiac surgery readmissions/ICU bounce-backs, structural heart cases, STEMI/NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, and Inari procedures
• Special procedures and acuity include the first 6 hours post-op with inotropic medications, hemodynamic instability, active cardiac output management, extreme coagulopathy, open chest, OHS/Impella, ECMO, CRRT, and IABP

Scheduling Notes

• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Other special scheduling requests should be submitted with the request for time off at application submission
