MedSurg RN

Overview

• 13-week contract in Gillette, Wyoming
• 16-32 rooms
• 12-hour rotating shifts, 7-7, days/nights, weekends
• Nights
• 36 hours per week
• No floating expected
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 4-5:1
• Navy blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wyoming
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg (6 months of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS
• PALS or ENPC
• Chemotherapy certs

Unit Details

• General job duties include care for medical patients from early infancy through end of life
• Patient mix includes telemetry, surgical, ortho, neuro, end of life, bariatric, and detox/alcohol
• Tele patients come to the floor and are monitored in ICU as well
• The RN would not float to the chemo area

Additional Notes

• 8 hours of non-billable orientation
• Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
• Client does not accept local candidates within a 50-mile radius
• Client may call off or cancel up to 24 hours per 13 weeks
• 8 hours with unit educator plus 30 hours precept training
