Job Summary

• Performs nuclear medicine procedures under supervision for patients of all ages.
• Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals and assists with therapeutic doses.
• Schedules studies and coordinates with physicians to support safe and effective operations.
• May assist with training radiology students, house staff, and residents.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in California
• 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
• Associate degree in diagnostic imaging or nuclear medicine
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
• California RHN
• ARRT (NM) or CNMT

Key Skills and Responsibilities

• Performs general and specialized diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures
• Calibrates equipment and reviews calibration data
• Processes image data, including function curves and reconstructed SPECT images
• Transfers images to PACS
• Maintains records for radiopharmaceutical receiving, dispensing, and disposal
• Follows radiation safety and ALARA principles
• Explains procedures, positions patients, and provides post-exam instructions
• Identifies and reports abnormal findings, artifacts, adverse events, and equipment issues
• Supports protocoling, forecasting, and preparation for imaging cases
• Assists with staff and student training
