Description
LDRP RN
Overview
- Location: Dickinson, North Dakota
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day/Night Rotate, 12 hours
- Hours per week: 36
- Department: LDRP
- No clinical involvement
Required Qualifications
- RN license
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- 2 years of experience
- Must be able to titrate drips
Unit Details
- 4 L&D beds
- 7 postpartum beds
- Typical patients include >35 weeks in labor and Mom/Baby couplets
- Charge nurse is on each shift and takes an assignment
- Neonatal vent, CPAP, BiPap, and high flow are used on the unit
Schedule
- Block scheduling
- Every third weekend
- Holidays as needed
Floating
- May float to MSP/ED for helping hands, mostly sitting 1:1 with patients
Orientation
- 3 unit-specific 12-hour shifts
Additional Notes
- Rural hospital with limited services
- Distance from NICU is more than 1 hour
- Helpful traits include teamwork, provider consistency, knowledge, independence, and good communication
- Surgery handles the C-section; staff circulate for the baby only
