ER RN

Overview

• Role: ER RN
• Location: Little Falls, Minnesota
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day/night rotating shifts
• Hours per week: 36

Required Qualifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• TNCC
• ENPC or PALS
• Competent triage skills
• Able to read own telemetry strips
• Must be able to initiate RT equipment with verbal assistance from RT on call if needed
• Must be able to work professionally and independently in a Critical Access ED setting

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 2 years of Critical Access ED experience

Unit Details

• ER department
• 10 beds
• 2 trauma bays
• Separate triage room
• 1 locked seclusion room
• Level IV trauma and stroke ready designation

Clinical Setting

• Treats patients across the lifespan, from newborn to geriatric
• Common patient issues include respiratory, cardiac, trauma, and stroke
• Average volume is 25-30 patients per day
• Nurse-to-patient ratio varies by acuity; 1:3 is common

Schedule

• Rotating days and nights
• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday
• No self-scheduling or block scheduling
• No call or standby requirement

Additional Notes

• No clinical involvement
• CNA/Tech support is available from 1400-2230
• RT is available during daytime hours and on call at night
• RN support includes transport to CT for stroke activations
• Floating is not required
• Orientation lasts until competency is achieved, up to 4 shifts
