Overview

• 13-week contract
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour night shifts

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• 2 years of ED experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• NIHSS
• Driver’s license required at submittal

Unit Details

• ER
• 21 beds/trauma bays
• Certified stroke center
• Ratios: 1:4
• Charge nurse takes an assignment
• 2 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation

Schedule

• Shift times include 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 3p-3a, and 7p-7a
• Every other weekend
• Holidays required
• Schedule is created by leadership based on needs

Clinical Setting

• All ages
• Common patient types include chest pain, abdominal pain, cough/congestion, orthopedic injuries, ENT emergencies, sepsis, and stroke
• Common drips include antibiotics, narcotics, anti-emetics, vaccines, and emergency medications
• Smaller ER with fewer specialty resources
• Patients are transferred out as needed

Additional Notes

• Willingness to cross-train to cover charge occasionally is requested
• Pass/fail open-book exam during orientation; 90% required to pass
• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
• RTO must be provided upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
• Radius rule applies: 50 miles
• Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with facilities associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity
