Overview

• Role: RN

• Location: Kankakee, Illinois
• Facility: 22 private beds
• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Illinois RN license in hand
• BLS
• ACLS
• EPIC experience
• 1 year of experience
• Drivers License required for submission to be considered

Preferred

• Travel experience
• ICU experience

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 on days and nights
• Common diagnoses include cardiac, open heart day 3, cranis, cardiac cath (radial and femoral), watchman, zephyr valve for COPD, pacemakers, trachs, continuous CPAP, Bipap, chest tubes, and CBI
• No vents
• RNs titrate drips
• Common titratable medications include Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro for blood pressure only, insulin, heparin, dopamine/dobutamine for renal dosing
• Nurse aides are available at 1:10 for blood sugars, vitals, and ADLs
• RT equipment includes CPAP, BIPAP, and HFNC
• RNs read tele; centralized tele tech also helps monitor
• Charge nurse is Team Lead during the day and takes patients on nights, weekends, and holidays
• Floating may include ICU for PCU-level patients or med surg for a full assignment
• Weekend requirement: every other
• Holiday requirement: every other
• No call or standby requirement
• Scrub color: Caribbean
• Orientation: one 12-hour shift

• Local placements within 20-50 miles are accepted
• Clinical prescreen is required before hiring manager review
• First-time traveler is okay
