Emergency Department RN
Overview
- Contract RN role in State College, Pennsylvania
- Nights, 12-hour shifts (1845-0715)
- 36 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- Subject to scheduled on-call assignments as needed due to community event influence on Emergency Department patient volumes
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of Emergency Department experience
- Emergency Department experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- CPI
Preferred
- EPIC Computer Charting Experience
Role Summary
- Provides professional nursing care in the Emergency Department for neonate through geriatric patients
- Uses ENA standards and the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Triages patients entering the emergency care system and prioritizes care based on physical and psychosocial needs
- Manages complications and emergencies, recognizes changes in patient status, and supports patient and family education and discharge teaching
