Diagnostic Imaging Tech

Overview

• Contract role in State College, Pennsylvania.
• Day shift weekdays; every 3rd weekend evening shift.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.

Required Qualifications

• Radiology Technologist experience within the last year.
• 1 year of experience as a Radiology Technologist.
• ARRT (R).
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association.
• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a specialized training program in radiological technology.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience performing radiological procedures in a hospital, clinic, or physicians office.

Role Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures, and respond to patient questions.
• Perform diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians.
• Use CR, Fluoro, and DR rooms safely and efficiently.
• Assist the Radiologist and/or Fluoro Tech during fluoroscopic and special procedure examinations.
• Move portable radiographic equipment for procedures in the Emergency Dept., Operating Room, PACU, and Nursing departments.
• Use proper sterile technique during examinations in the operating room and for various procedures within the Radiology department.
• Prepare IV and Oral contrast media and administer contrast media as needed.
• Document patient symptoms, history, imaging limitations, date, time of study, and technologist initials in PACS.
• Perform clerical duties, including workflow monitoring, office support, and quality assurance duties.
