Labor and Delivery RN-CHARGE NURSE
Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Anchorage, Alaska
- 13-week assignment
- Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
- 48 hours per week
- First timers accepted
- May float to like units if needed
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend
- On-call not required
- Block scheduling not accommodated
- Local candidates not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alaska
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
- Experience in Charge roles
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or Heart&Stroke
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or Heart&Stroke
- NRP
- AWHONN
Preferred
- Charge experience preferred or willingness to train as charge
Unit Details
- High Risk L&D unit
- OB Triage/Testing: 5–10
- LD/Antepartum: 7–14
- 10 OB Triage rooms
- 10 LDR rooms
- 3 OR suites
- 4 PACU rooms
- Average daily deliveries around 7, with up to 14 patients including inductions and high-risk antepartum
- OB Triage averages 4–5 third trimester testing patients plus triage patients each day
