ICU RN

Role

• ICU RN travel assignment in a 28-bed mixed ICU.
• Unit staffing is RNs.
• 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend.
• Travelers are first to float; float scope includes the emergency department and PCU for PCU or ICU holds.
• Expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit (3 years of experience)
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS
• Comfort managing patients on the ventilator
• CRRT experience
• Advanced hemodynamics experience
• Phlebotomy experience

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN
• Advanced Certifications
• TNCC certification
• Previous experience in a facility that used Meditech

Unit Details

• Bedside shift report is the method of patient handoff.
• Equipment includes i-mobile phones for each care team member and a mobile computer workstation on wheels.
• Procedures and patient care on the unit include post-op day 0 CABG, impellas, balloon pumps, Swan Ganz, advanced hemodynamics, aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage care, EVDs, bolts, Codman, Artic Sun with induced hypothermia, breathing treatments outside the ICU, and training for head and neck flap procedures.
• The unit is willing to train travelers interested in becoming a Neuro ICU nurse or Cardiovascular ICU nurse.
