Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Muncie, Indiana
• Day shift: 3x12s, 7:00–19:30
• 36 hours per week
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must be willing to work charge
• Locals are not accepted

Unit / Setting

• Trauma center
• 48 beds, flexing up to 62 beds with hall beds if needed
• Regular ED ratio is never more than 1:4
• Hold assignments may include 4:1 for progressive holds and 5:1 for medical holds
• Averages 6.6 behavioral health patients per day

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ED - Emergency Department (3 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
• Experience in Charge roles
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Management of dysrhythmias
• Continuous IV sedation
• IV vasopressors
• Procedural sedation administration
• CPAP/BiPAP
• Ventilated patients care
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS issued by American Heart Association

• NIH
• TNCC

Floating

• Floating is required
• May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
