ER/MedSurg/Swing Bed RN

Location

• Turtle Lake, North Dakota

Assignment Details

• 26-week contract
• 12-hour night shifts: 0645-1915 and 1845-0715
• 36 hours per week
• Critical Access rural location
• 25 beds
• Department: ER / MedSurg / Swing Bed Unit
• Floating: ER / Medsurg Support
• No clinical involvement

Required Qualifications

• RN
• 2 years of experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• TNCC
• Must be able to titrate drips
• Must read and interpret telemetry strips
• Understanding of dementia, stroke, and skin care geriatric patient care

Preferred

• None stated

Schedule

• Every other weekend
• Alternating holidays, usually every other holiday
• Team scheduling; block scheduling possible if requested

Additional Details

• Charge nurse on each shift
• Charge nurse takes a team assignment, not individual assignments
• Nurse aides/CNA on each shift
• Patient-managed CPAP only
• Common patient types include dementia, dependent older adults, diabetes, rehab/restorative care post acute illness, IV medication, fluid and blood administration, COVID, wounds, initial care of trauma patients in the ER, exacerbation of chronic illnesses, geriatric population, and general rehab post-surgery
• 3 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation
• Scrubs required; no specific color
• No call or standby requirement
• Previous travel experience not required
