Description

ER (Emergency Room) RN

Overview

31-bed ER
Nights, 12-hour shifts
36 hours per week
Floating may be required between Gilbert and Chandler ER

Required Qualifications

Active BLS
Active ACLS
Active AZ license or compact license
2 years minimum ER/Trauma experience
Moderate conscious sedation competency testing
COVID vaccine required, or declination form with appropriate documentation and hospital approval
Dysrhythmia exam required prior to start, with a maximum of 2 attempts
Pass/fail Sim Lab required on Day 1 of orientation

Schedule Requirements

Every other weekend
Must work 2 of 3 holidays during the holiday season

PALS or ENPC

Clinical Setting

Charge Nurse and Unit Secretary present
Nurse aides/paramedics/CNAs support IVs, IV fluids, discharges, and tech duties
RT and Pharmacy available 24/7
ER Pharmacist available on days, 5 days/week
Common patient types include MVAs, GSW, CVA (Stroke center), MI (CP center), high risk OB, psych holds, cardioversions, and conscious sedation for closed fractures
11% pediatric population
Patients age 15 and younger are stabilized and transferred
GE Lifepacks monitors
Ventilator support includes Puritan Benette 840, Dreager, Vision Bipap, and V60s
