• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 3x12s, 7:00p–7:30a

Required Qualifications

• BLS
• NIHSS
• EPIC experience
• Strong Neuro experience
• NIHSS in hand at time of submit
• History of caring for stroke patients and implementing NIH
• Must be a Stepdown qualified RN
• COVID vaccination required

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS
• EVD experience preferred

Unit Details

• 10 EAST (Neuro Stepdown & EMU - Epilepsy Monitoring Unit)
• 31 total beds: 25 Stepdown, 6 EMU
• Nurse-to-patient ratios:

  • 1:3 for Stepdown
  • 1:5–6 for Floor (EMU)
• Charge nurse available 24/7
• Nurse aides on unit: 4 per shift
• Telemetry on unit; RNs do not have to read strips
• RT available 24/7
• Floor vents may be present; RN vent experience is not required

Schedule and Expectations

• Weekend requirement: every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule
• Holiday rotation required
• Call/standby requirement: unknown
• Floating may include 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10W
• Orientation: 2 shifts on the unit

Submission Notes

• Only one submission at a time across the WVU system
• Driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
• Previous perm candidates must be gone for 2 years
• Previous travelers who were there for 1 full year must be gone for 2 years
• Any license hits must be disclosed at time of submission
• Travel teams must be submitted together in one email
• Up to 2 candidates per opening may be submitted
