• Med/Surg experience

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5
• Nurse aids on unit: 1:8
• RNs are required to titrate drips
• Remote telemonitoring is used on the unit
• Charge nurse takes an assignment
• Common patient types include CHF, hypertension and chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure
• RT equipment includes Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, and vents

Scheduling and Assignment Details

• Self-scheduling and block scheduling are available
• Weekend requirement: minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Holiday requirement: yes
• Call or standby requirement: determined by NM
• Floating: determined by NM and department needs; first to float as needed, with possible floating within Zone 4 in an extreme need
• Orientation: clinicians must be in state for the week of orientation, even if first-day modules are remote
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
