Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Role Overview
- Temp Registered Nurse (RN) assignment in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- 25-bed unit
- Patient types include post TNK, ortho, crani-neurosurgery, laminectomies, and polytrauma
- May float across other med surg units and across all campuses
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience working with Neuro patients
- Experience working with Orthopedics patients
- Experience in a hospital setting
- Driver's License
- Experience using/reading lift equipment
- Experience using/reading telemetry
- Experience using/reading chest tubes
- Experience using/reading airvo
- Experience administering heparin drips
- Experience administering PCAs
- Neuro PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
- Experience with Epic
Preferred Qualifications
- Trauma care experience
- Experience administering 3% sodium
Additional Details
- NBO: 16 hours
- Holiday coverage required for 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed
- Unit equipment includes lift equipment, telemetry, chest tubes, and airvo
