Overview

• Location: Seattle, Washington
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days, 4-10 hour shifts
• Department: Operation Room (OR RN)
• Unit: OR RN
• Suites: 22, with capability to expand to 26
• Average cases per day: 50-65

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS
• OR Circulate (2 years of experience)
• OR Circulate experience within the last year
• Ability to circulate
• Experience with GYN (gynecology) surgery
• Experience with the da Vinci surgical robot
• Experience with ENT (ear, nose, throat) surgery

Preferred

• Knowledge of multiple types of cases
• ENT experience
• Experience at a hospital of similar or larger size, if less than 2 years of experience

Schedule and Call

• 4-10 hour shifts, variable days and start times Monday-Friday
• Start times: 0630, 0900, 1100
• No self-scheduling
• Start time stays consistent within the same week
• Tuesdays and Fridays have later start times for in-services and team meetings
• 1 call total per 4-week schedule
• Weekday call runs from end of shift until 7am the next morning
• Weekend call is 24 hours, from 7am to 7am
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• Call room is available

Floating

• No floating

Orientation

• 1-2 days with HR and OR leadership, including EHR training
• 1-2 days on the unit with a preceptor
• Orientation may be longer if there is no previous Cerner experience

Additional Notes

• Travelers need to bring their own earphones for online training during the first week of orientation
• Over two absence occurrences in a 13-week contract is considered excessive and may lead to early termination
• Teal scrubs are provided
• Parking is paid by the traveler; garage parking is available with daily and monthly options, or transit may be used
