Geriatric Psych RN

Overview

Travel RN role in Asheville, North Carolina.
13-week contract.
36 hours per week.
Unit has 9 beds.
Floating may include all adult inpatient areas.
Weekend work is required.
No on-call.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Psychiatric experience with 2 years of experience
Psychiatric experience within the last year
BLS
Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred

Ability to de-escalate patients
Flexibility

Unit Details

Behavioral health and medical experience are the main skills recruited for.
The unit cares for geriatric patients.
Typical procedures include vital signs, rapid response, Code Blue, bladder scans, and blood draws.
EMR: Cerner

Work Environment

Day shift staffing: 2 RNs, 2 BHTs, sitters when assigned
Night shift staffing: 1 RN, 2 BHTs, sitters when assigned
Patient ratio: 5-9
Equipment includes a vital signs machine, Hoyer lift, glucometer, IVs, bladder scanner, bed alarms, chair alarms, and crash cart
Dress code: navy blue scrubs, white top with navy blue pants, or all white
