Contract Length

Schedule

• Nights
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling
• Weekend requirement: full- and part-time employees are expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Holiday requirement: yes
• Call/standby: determined by nurse manager

Unit Details

• 6th Floor
• 37 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4/5 on days and 1:5/6 on nights
• Patient population: trauma, oncology, and general med surg patients
• Telemetry: Phillips Telemetry; RN must be competent in reading strips; centrally monitored off the unit
• Nurse aides: 1:12
• Respiratory support/equipment: moderate oxygen needs
• Charge nurse does not take an assignment

Required Qualifications

• RN (Registered Nurse)
• BLS (AHA)
• Acute Care Nursing
• Must be in state for the week of orientation
• Driver’s license must be submitted

Floating

• May float as determined by nurse manager and department needs
• If there is an extreme need, may float within Zone 3
• May be asked to float into ICU (low-acuity holds with skillset), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele

Dress Code
