ER RN
Role
ER RN for an ER - Level IV Trauma Center.
Location
Ranson, West Virginia
Contract Length
13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- NIHSS
- PALS (AHA)
- TNCC
- Previous EPIC experience
- Must have strong IV skills
- COVID vaccination required
Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Weekend and holiday rotation as scheduled
Unit Details
- 18-bed ER with capacity to expand to 21 beds
- No Fast Track
- Approximately 60 patients per day
- Ratio: 1:3-4
- Charge Nurse 24/7
- Monitor tech 24/7
- RT in-house 24/7
- No IV team
- No floating
Patient Population
- Typical ER patients include CHF, COPD, DM, and COVID
- About 10% pediatric patients
- High incidence of heroin overdose
- Behavioral health patients during the day
Additional Notes
- Traveler must provide own navy blue scrubs
- RNs draw their own labs unless phlebotomy is needed for difficult sticks
- RNs are responsible for mixing drips after pharmacy hours
- Can initiate and titrate all drips except chemo
