RN PCU

Overview

  • Contract role in Zanesville, Ohio
  • 13-week assignment
  • Nights, 36 hours per week
  • Start date is 11/16 unless the clinician is a returning traveler within 9 months

Unit / Setting

  • Cardiac step-down / PCU
  • Typical patient mix includes heart cath recovery, cardiac drips, post-op open-heart patients, and other cardiac/med-surg step-down patients

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Ohio
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • Cardiac Stepdown / PCU experience
  • Minimum 3 years of Cardiac Stepdown experience
  • Cardiac Stepdown experience within the last year
  • Experience working with Post-Operative Open Heart patients
  • Experience working with Post Cardiac Cath patients
  • Cardiac Cath Lab experience
  • Experience with cardiac drips
  • Experience with post-operative recovery
  • Experience with Epic

Schedule / Work Expectations

  • Typically every 3rd weekend
  • Covers 1 holiday, subject to change based on census and staffing
  • No on-call requirement, though a rare call day may be requested if census or staffing fluctuates
  • May be required to float to other units during low volumes or coverage crises

Clinical Notes

  • Ventilated patients are not typically admitted to this unit, but the clinician may need to care for one in rare circumstances
