PCU RN

Overview

  • Travel assignment in Kingwood, Texas
  • 36 hours per week
  • 13-week contract

Unit

  • 3N PCU
  • 24 total beds
  • Medical trauma unit
  • Maximum patient ratio: 5:1
  • Standard equipment
  • EMR: Meditech Expanse

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Texas
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year

Preferred

  • Charge Nurse experience
  • Meditech Expanse experience

Procedures / Clinical Skills

  • Thoracentesis
  • Chest tubes
  • Care of patients post heart cath
  • Medication administration
  • RN assessments and reassessments
  • Communication with all members of the care team
  • Documentation in EHR-Meditech Expanse

Floating

  • Adult Unit

Schedule

  • Day shift and night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 6 RNs, and 2 PCTs
  • Normally rotating weekends
