RN - BMC CRU
Location
- Normal, Illinois
Schedule
- Night shift
- 12-hour shifts
- 24 hours per week
- 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- No on-call
Assignment Overview
- Clinical Resource Unit (Float pool)
- Provides nursing care across inpatient units including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Mental Health Unit, and Acute Rehab
- Manages acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients
- Provides post-operative care for the complex surgical population
Required Qualifications
- Ability to float to multiple units and provide care to diverse patient populations
- Ability to develop, implement, and modify patient care plans
- Skill in medication administration and evaluating medication effects
- Skill in preparing patients for procedures and managing post-operative care
- Skill in IV venipuncture and blood administration
- Ability to document care accurately using EMR
- Ability to educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and assist in professional development of peers
- Ability to handle conflict management and maintain professional communication with team members
- Skill in critical thinking to assess patient status and take appropriate action
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members
- Ability to prioritize patient safety and adhere to safety standards including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and ambulation safety
- Ability to complete patient bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and maintain updated patient communication boards
- Ability to delegate appropriately and follow up on delegated tasks
- College diploma of nursing
- BLS (AHA)
- IL Nursing License
